Werkt niet met Automatische Veiligheidsgordels, dus alleen met Sportgordels!
Gordelstangen zijn ontworpen om tuners veilig te houden terwijl ze de grenzen van hun auto's op het circuit testen door de racegordel in een hoek van 10-15 graden ten opzichte van de schouders te houden. Als het harnas buiten dit bereik is, zorgt het harnas ervoor dat de racer na een onvoorzien ongeval in het voertuig vast blijft zitten, of dat de ruggengraat van de racer wordt samengedrukt.
De harnasstang wordt meestal direct achter de voorstoelen gemonteerd, en aan de bestaande veiligheidsgordels in de fabriek. Het resultaat is een stijver chassis, geen rommelige gordelriemen en vooral: veiligheid.
